Default OK, this isn\'t supposed to Suck...

002 that's been working great for over a year,
Brand new G5 dual 2.5,
4G memory,
PT 6.7...

WORSE PERFORMANCE THAN MY OLD LAPTOP.
'Holding off interrupts' errors, 'Lost communication with 002' errors, etc etc etc. I can hardly use any plugs, especially instruments, and it's impossible to work. Tried repairing permissions and all that.

SOMETHING IS UP HERE!!!!

I had the same prob and thought it was a firewire or firmware issue. It could be the power harness and power supply issue that is all too inherent in the 002's. Contact digi and have them send a repair kit to you. It's easy to replace. Check previous threads or answerbase on "Power Harness".

Good Luck and Happy New Year,

Ramin

Thanks. I'll try to get the kit down here in Mexico... hope it's the right solution.

Did you install 6.7 over the prev 6.4? I never got that to work. Clean sweep of the whole system, and then fresh on 6.7 only did it for me!

Why would the front firewire be better than the back?

It doesn't make sense, but search this forum and you'll find reports of differences between the front and rear Firewire ports.
