Default Mix Farm - d24 \'hybrid\' TDM system

I have a Mix Farm/d24 hybrid system - Mac G4/533, MixFarm/d24/DSPFarm, 2x888/24, 1x1622, 1.2GB RAM... The Mix Farm, as per Digi's support pages, acts as a Mix Core in these cases. So far so good - the Mix Farm changes the audio engine appropriately...

But I'm experiencing some weird things with 2 888/24 interfaces. With the 888/24 in the #1 position off the Mix Farm, it does not meter or transmit audio on channels 3-6. Nothing. With the 1622 first, off the Mix Farm, that works 100%, and the same 888 meters and transmits all 8 channels when run off the d24. The other 888 doesn't seem to pass audio at the output jacks in either position, despite metering all 8 channels (this seems like a problem with the interface, no? - is this problem commmon to other users with older i/o gear?). Ultimately, I would like the 888 in the #1 position, as it has the superior 24-bit clock (or at least I've been lead to believe this from various articles).

My central question is this - should the d24 be treated as a d24 in this system or as a Mix i/o? It would change whether it comes before or after the DSPFarm in the slot order and may solve this weirdness.

I'm hoping to find some other users with similar setups that can share their experience, provide a few pointers.

Cheers,

I'll check. I use a d24/mix farm combo. I am thinking trash digisetup preference file and check your periferiel cable to your first interface.

The Mix Farm should go first, then the d24 card. If you still have problems, you may need to get your d24 card updated. I think rev. G or higher (I could be wrong, it's been a long time) is what you'd need to work with a Mix farm.
