Unable to playback in pro tools 6.1

hey whats up i just purchased an mbox and the installation went fine. now all im trying to do is record or even playback something i import into pro tools and it just locks up on me. sometimes i recieve a buffer underrun error and sometimes it just locks up tries to playback and then it just seems like it ignores the request. i have a amd athlon 1.3 with 512mb i mean its not the fastest comp around but it should at least playback 1 track. i checked the playback engine and tried every settings possible still leading to the same result. anyone have a fix for this or is my computer a little too old to compete with pro tools?

Make absolutely sure you have SP1 for Windows XP installed or the USB ports won't work properly. Make sure you plug the MBox direct and not thru a hub. Set CPU to 85%. Make sure your drive is set to DMA.

If you have an older computer, you may not ahve the above done. PT 6.1 requires XP.
