Lemonkid, as stated, yes, all maintenance scripts and permissions repair run very often.

Had the same issue with the first software update on my system 9.0.3 you need to run disk utility and repair the disk after your file count is more than likely off if you are fully registerd and find the set up bundel assistent

You may have an e-mail from AVid with a registration number if PRo Tools nine was your first Pro Tools system

Unfortunately no. Did you get the reply we sent from your Support Case yesterday? Also in that reply...

but with any instructions.
What should i do ?
Re-download the same file that cause the trouble?
Is-it another update?

I don't understand why it's always complicated with digi !

What's the point of such a move?

We sent you the installer via a different method to try and rule out the download process. We know the installer works (here and on the overwhelming majority of customer systems) so we are trying to rule out other variables. We started a support case for you to request your installer log file. Please reply to that case notice and attach your file according to the instructions provided. Thanks.

That did it! I created a new Administrator account, and ran the 9.0.6 updater from there.

Voila. No error, PT wasn't deleted, and was successfully updated to 9.0.6

I still think there must be something wrong with the installer since no other software from any other vendor has this problem, but I'm happy to have a workaround nonetheless.

Did you ever try Onyx: http://www.onyxmac.com/

You can clean up your mac with it. I use it irregularly when I run into unexpected problems. Just try it on your original account. You have an account specific problem that may be solved with Onyx. It is more than just maintenance.

So it looks like we're 2 for 2 installing with new user accounts.

Have others still experiencing this problem tried creating a new user account to install from?

So I didn't have to do all that. When it deleted my previous install, I installed 9.0 from the disc and then directly installed 9.5 upgrade. Installed without a hitch, well I did have to repair permissions but so far so good.
