Default PT 8 adjust Tempo with drum loop

Hi
I'm sure this is a simple one but I can't seem to work it out.
I have a loop of one bar. I don't know the loop's tempo. How do I get PT to set the tempo to the correct amount? i.e I want (if poss) for PT to correctly calculate the tempo.
And what if I have a selection of loops that I'm editing together that a real and so may have slight tempo variations?
What's the best way? Is there a video tutorial anywhere?
Cheers.

To lock your beats to the grid there is more ways to achieve this:

Identify Beat

Select your audio loop and use Event -> Identify Beat to find out the original tempo of the loop.
This will change PT's grid to the tempo of the audio. The audio will not be altered.

Elastic Audio

Analyze your audio with EA (rhythmic in case of drumloops). Then quantize your audio to the grid using Event -> Event Operations -> Quantize.
This will change the tempo of the audio and match it to your session's tempo.

Beat Detective

Select your loop and open Beat Detective, analyze the audio and quantize it - all from within Beat Detective.
This method also changes the tempo of the audio and was used before there was Elastic Audio. The results should be the same. Sometimes it is better to use this version, sometimes EA wins. Try it...

Here is a video where a combination of the first two versions is shown:

Hope this helps...
