Default Bandstand, or General MIDI drum module

Does anyone here use Bandstand from Native Instruments with Pro Tools? Does it make it easier to import or export General MIDI, especially the drum track? In PTLE it's a hassle to import General MIDI files, not knowing which instrument each track is supposed to be (I have to import the same file into GarageBand to find that out!), then move each MIDI track into an instrument track to simplify the editing/exporting cycles. Bandstand's instrument quality is really nice, but I'll use it mostly to create backing tracks, and send MIDI files to band mates for comments and practice.

As an alternative, is there a simple, inexpensive drum module for PTLE that imports, plays, and exports General MIDI drum tracks? The drum modules that come with the Mbox PTLE seem to be subsets of drum kits, and have little or nothing in common with General MIDI drum tracks.

Yeah, I know it's going to sound different in QuickTime Player or Windows Media Player than it does in Bandstand, but I have to email up to ten songs to band members still on dial-up (hence MIDI is much preferred to MP3), and I use Pro Tools to make arrangements for live performances, never for recordings.

Thanks for any advice anyone can offer.

Default Re: Bandstand, or General MIDI drum module

OK, so I bought Bandstand, and it works pretty well. The main thing for me was to get a General MIDI compatible drum module, but the other instruments are also very good. I hoped it would somehow would make opening and saving General MIDI files easier, but if it can, I sure don't know how. I'd be interested in hearing from any others who use Bandstand with Pro Tools...
