Default Error when launching Pro Tools 11 after fresh install

Installed a fresh copy of Pro Tools 11 on a Macbook Pro Retina with 10.8.4 on it. Here's the error:

Could not create a new document because Assertion in "/Volumes/Development/105109/AlturaPorts/DFW/MacBuild/../Views/UMenu.MacOS.mm", line 1357.

(Use the Copy button to copy this message to the clipboard.).

Tried cleaning and reinstalling and no luck. I cannot open Pro Tools at all.

This is the second machine I've installed Pro Tools 11 on and had two completely separate issues.

Avid...can you help?

And everything is OK with iLok? V2 USB and all the right licenses?

Can you list your system specs?

PT11 specifically requires iLok2 key, the new black one. PT10 works with the old blue key as well. Be sure you have the correct key!

Not sure why my license is in question but just to clarify...yes I have an iLok 2 (black) connected to my machine, but get this weird error. Has anyone at Avid seen this?

I cannot launch Pro Tools at all, but can verify my license is good and shows up in my ilok account and key, because I am able to launch Pro Tools 11 on another machine with my iLok key.

Anyone else run into this?

Same problem, also on 10.8.4. Might be that 10.8.4 is the problem? I read it is not supported....

Do you have avid hardware? Just found out changing the playback engine to internal solves the problem. Selecting my MBox causes it not to work anymore.

Yes, that is it for me. Downloading latest drivers for MBox solved it:
