Default Firmware update on D Control
I have been getting mixed answers to this so, DIGI please, I would like to know...

I recently switch computers and I was prompted to do a firmware upgrade on the ICON. I was told by some that if I did it the board would freeze and only DIGI would be able to undo this... So, I haven't done it...

Should I upgrade the firmware?

What would be the point of a firmware upgrade that crashed the board? The version of Pro Tools that you're using has a profile for the ICON. If your ICON is running an older version, the software will prompt you to update it.

It's pretty quick (unless you've got a surround panner .... that adds like 10-15 minutes!) and should do you no harm.

Yes .... you should.

There's absolutely no reason why the firmware download wouldn't work unless there is a problem with the controller.
