Default ProTools Stops transmitting audio

I recently installed LE on my new 1.25 DP G4, running my audio media3 card, and ProTools seems to get stuck randomly. All the functions are still operative but the transport just sits at play and no sound is transmitted. Sometimes it will even just stop during playback. I checked and even made sure I did not have 2bar count in enabled on the transport. When i switch between the sync, from SPDIF to internal, playback starts again for a little while and then problem are randomly returns. Digitally I am clocking from my DA-30 DAT machine and the sample rates are correct. I am at a lost. Can anyone help me.

Thanks in advance,
Dan Cheung

For test purposes, try running Pro Tools off of the internal clock of the AMIII card. In Pro Tools software, go to "Session Setup" window and set the "Clock reference" to internal.

I did that, I switched to external just because it would fix the problem. Now that I have had more time to trouble shoot, the problem still happens periodically and to fix it, i simply goto setups/hardware or playback engine, and without changing anything, exit the menu and playback resumes. In detail here are the things i tried to resolve the problem: tried different sessions thinking the session was corrupt, allocated more RAM to DAE and Protools(leaving the minimum at that) downloaded the Apple PCI extension, reiinstalled ProTools, switched back to 5.11 DAE, and trimmed my extensions. the problem is still there, every couple minutes the audio drops out and meters stick, but complete functionality of the software is intact. I have never ran into this type of error before. Please advise, i am at a lost.

thanks in advance,
Dan Cheung

I have this problem ALL THE TIME with the beta. I call it the "Master Fader Freakout." Even with the old DAE, the 32 track version caused this problem and would also crash me periodically. I switched back to the 24 trk version and everything's fine. I pretty much only use the beat now when I absolutely have to go over 24 tracks.

When the master fader freaks out, i have to save, close and re-open my session to restore sound. I've never found a fix for this.

FYI, I'm running a G4 867 quicksilver with 512 mb ram and os 9.2.2.

I switched back to 5.1.1 trashed the prefs, and the problem is still happening, could it be a hardware failure? Logic seems to run fine. At a lost, Digi please help.
