003 OSX Driver for PT11/10.3.X Simultaneous Use

Hi there,
In June 2013, Avid issued 003 driver that works fine with PT11. However if I resort back to 10.3.6 or 10.3.7 the interface works as if it is a 003 rack but the display is idle and the faders and buttons are not responding. This is a total downer that Avid only caters the proper and relatively frequent updates for their newer hardware. People are still using 002 units and 003 units and they can't budget changing their hardware like their shoes!
No one is willing to buy old electronics especially if it is called "Legacy" even by the manufacturer themselves!
I spent more than 4000 dollars buying 003 with CPTK and Avid seem that they washed their hands off a real support for both of them.
I guess I'm going to stick to my 10.3.X and assume I never bothered knowing about PT11.
I would be better off buying a generic control surface and a non Avid hardware and get used to Logic Pro. At least I wouldn't be having so many layers of frustration and betrayal with every new versions of software and hardware.

similarly, i blew tons of cash on this setup too (003 console, crappy toolkits) and found this out the hard way too! the 11.0 driver only works for pt11, but the older driver only seems to work for pt10.3. pt11 has been pretty useless up till now anyway with the lack of 3rd party plugins and TCE. i'm slowly getting more interested in using pt11 (especially since i PAID for it!), but yeah it's a stupid situation.

I didn't realise at first than you can have both the old and new 003 drivers installed and working on your system, but you can and it works.

Just make sure you select the new Avid 003 driver as your interface in PT11 and the older 003 driver in PT10.

Each version of the software will remember what you've chosen.

Then, you'll have fully working faders, knobs buttons etc on the 003 console working in both PT10 and PT11.
