Is 001 Factory worth the extra $400 over the standard 001?

At this point it's pretty questionable. Bombfactory is not compatible with Windows XP yet and seems to be in a rut. I would get the regular 001 and spend the $400 on MCDSP Compressor Bank. You'll get all the compression you'll need from a company that is on top of things.

no doubt, this is a MAC forum after all, and the bombfactory stuff works great on a mac. If you think you'll need good compressors, and you probably will, get the factory bundle.

It's not just a few compressors you get for the extra money but it would be worth it even if it was.

Here's a quote from the product information page on the digidesign site that lists all the included plug-ins :

Which is all well & good, but Digi isn't offering the Factory Bundle any longer.

It's all worth it.
