Default 6.4 firmware upgrade?

Hi!
I'm currently running 6.1.1 on a 002 rack and it's solid.
My question is, if I upgrade to 6.4 and the firmware is updated and I for some reason find that my system isn't working as well as previously, will I be able to go back to 6.1.1 or will the updated firmware prevent me from doing so?

I hope you won't regret the switch!
As fo myself, I think I'll wait until someone can confirm that you can switch back to 6.1.1 before I make the move, just to be sure.

Anyone who tried?
Maybe some of you guys with controlers that that is no longer supported?

I upgraded the firmware on my 002 last night while installing 6.4 update.

Then I plugged 002 into my other PC (6.1.1), and received a message saying my firmware is incorrect, but I ignored it, and it seems to work fine.

I sometimes wonder if Digi's software people have ever worked in the real world.

If you go between different versions (6.4 to 6.1.x) you can download the correct firmware on each system - so, yes, you can revert.

Thank you for your help/info!

Rail, I'm not sure I get what you mean, will the firmware be reverted too if I go back and install 6.1.1 or would I have to do that manually, and if so, how?

If you plug your 002 into a system running an older version of Pro Tools you'll be prompted to upload the firmware to match the version of Pro Tools running -- like for example on my PC I have 6.1.1 and I uploaded he firmware for 6.1.1 into my 002... if I now take my 002 and plug it into my old Mac PowerBook running 5.3.2 I'm prompted to upload the firmware.. so I do. When I go back to 6.1.1 on the PC I upload it again.

As has been mentioned running the wrong (mismatched) firmware version may work okay.. but I wouldn't recommend it.
