Is there any equivalent of the Automation Curves from Logic?
Hi All
Working with VST strings mainly... I often record in Vol/Vel/Mod etc afterwards with a fader but enjoy using a mouse too. Any way of operating like the automation curves in Logic? Or being able to smooth curves etc? Freehand and straight line tool can be good but would love to have some more consistent curves like Logic. Thanks in advance! |

I googled "site:duc.avid.com automation curves"
and this was second in list: https://duc.avid.com/showthread.php?t=393668 I don't see a way to thin automation. hmmm.

Thanks @nednednerb - I had read that thread.
I've read a lot of them on here....I suppose I'm searching for an answer that doesn't exist though - it doesn't seem like its possible with PT unfortunately. Wishful thinking I suppose! |

Re: Is there any equivalent of the Automation Curves from Logic?
I think a way or ways to distribute automation points would be a good solution. I can see over the years many asking. I wonder why not some solution. When other DAWs have implementation of similar feature, I wonder why not for PT. Even if it's still "stepped", things could distribute along a path from A to B...

Re: Is there any equivalent of the Automation Curves from Logic?
Yes - could definitely be some improvements I think.
I completely understand those that want full control with writing every point and controlling them with a fader (which can be great) but some things for speed look so easy when I see people using Studio One or Logic and drawing a straight line and then just bending out a curve. Perhaps not a priority for most PT users though? Thanks for the replies |

Agreed @sardi. What's your method for drawing/creating automation?
