Default new (intel) mac mini with PT LE 7.4

I'm very happy with OS 10.4.11, PT LE 7.4.2, and the mBox2 pro.

Sadly, my first generation Dual G5 2.0 (not dual core) is dying.

I see the PT 8 has been approved for the new mac minis (intel).
Does this mean that 7.4.2 will run on the new mac minis as well?

If yes and I buy the mini (with the 2.26 processor and 4GB RAM)
it will come with 10.5. Will this be problematic?

....thanks, I'm just trying to identify all the land mines in advance

Default Re: new (intel) mac mini with PT LE 7.4

7.4.2 is compatible -
Pro Tools 7.4.2 software requires Mac OS X 10.5.3 or 10.5.4, and is not compatible with earlier versions of Leopard.
The only issue I see is if you wanted to upgrade your ext Hard drive.
FireWire 800 drives are not supported for record and playback with Mbox 2 Pro systems
Since the New Mac mini only has FW800 you will want to get a cable that converts FW800 to FW400.

Smile Re: new (intel) mac mini with PT LE 7.4

I'm running PTLE8 with a new mac mini, the 2.0 Ghz version, which is the cheapest, and 4 Mb of RAM upgrade, I haven't had a single glitch, so far, I ran 7.4 for a while before I upgraded, and no problems either, I just did the optimization recommended for Leopard, which is simple and everybody does anyways...and did I mentioned? I'm new to Mac, but everything is a lot easier, and smoother so far
