MC Control & Studio Monitor Express

I'm using PT9 with the 002r and will be connecting JBL's LSR4328P 5.1 setup for my surround setup. I don't understand how Studio Monitor Express should be setup. From my understanding, my MC Control can be used as a surround monitor system (similar to the Grace Design m906) where I can isolate certain channels and control over volume. If that is the case, how would i set this up? Would this work with my JBL system. Will this integrate within Protools?
