Automating send faders on HUI controller ?
I have a Tascam 1884 controller contolling PT in HUI mode.
I want to ride a fader for writing delay automation. Using the mouse just isn't doing it for me. ProTools assigns channels and aux channels to Controller through HUI. Is there any work around to get a fader set up on the mixer that I could ride for delays??? How do most of you do it? Ross |

Re: Automating buss faders on HUI controller ?
Can you do "fader flip"?

Re: Automating buss faders on HUI controller ?
I think the answer is ..."I think".
There is a button on the contoller that literly "fips" the faders. The low faders go high, the high faders, go low...Is that considered fader flip? Ross |

What are you trying to automate? What's sent to the delay or a parameter inside the delay? |

Re: Automating buss faders on HUI controller ?
I have an Aux track set up with a long delay at 100% "wet". On the vocal channel I have the vocal bussed to the delay Aux track. The buss "fader" is not a typical channel or aux fader, therefore the controller doesn't have a dedicated hardware fader coincided with the buss.
I want to do a very typical ride of the vocal with a fader contolling the delay to top off the end of a lyric line or held out note...also guitar leads, etc. If I automate the Aux track I will obviously not get the result I am trying to get. So my question is; Is there a work around to get a buss fader to show up in the mixer by setting up addition aux tracks or audio tracks...even if it means writing or recording the delay on a seperate track of the original? I really just don't like using a mouse for these type of functions... Any additional thoughts would be appreciated...Rail? Ross |

What are you trying to automate? What's sent to the delay? In other words are you trying to automate the send ? If so yes it can be done. Also it's in bad taste to ask for help by name. |

Re: Automating buss faders on HUI controller ?
OK...first, on asking for help by name...if it is considered in poor taste, I will refrain from this practice in the future.
I am trying to automate a send fader that is bussed to a delay on an Aux track. I have a male vocal on the track and I want to "record" the send as I manually move it. I just want to do this with a fader on my contoller in HUI mode. In my previous post I refered to the send fader as a buss fader...my apologies for the confusion...thanks for haging in here with me. Re: Automating buss faders on HUI controller ?
I think that's one of the advantages of the 002/C over the HUI.. the HUI doesn't allow you to flip the faders.

Yeah, I remember now.. you can't flip to control plug-in parameters with the HUI.. you should be able to do sends.
