can't zoom in to sample rez

Suddenly unable to zoom in to sample resolution on waveforms enabling pencil tool. Tried all known zooming methods.

Are these files imported from OMF? Consolidate the area you want to use the pencil on first.

You may also want to check the following.

-When the Edit Window Default Length is set too large, it is not possible to zoom down to sample level.

-The Edit Window Default Length field can be found in the Setups>Preferences>Display window.

If there are any automation points in a visible track past the maximum Pro Tools session length (about 12.5 hrs @ 44.1k, and 12 hrs @ 48k) Pro Tools will not zoom past quarter frame accuracy. This also occurs if the cursor has been dropped past the session length limit.

Hiding the offending track(s) or deleting all automation points past these session length limits will eliminate the problem.
