Default remote access problem

i have just installed 5.2le for the mbox on my ibook, however when i try to open the remote access panel to connect to the net it cant be found and says it is not installed, does anybody know why this is happening? It only works when i restart with the extensions on 9.2.2 All.
Any help would be appreciated

Obviously your remote access extension/control panel is not selected in the extensions manager when you start your computer.

I would advise you to use two different extension sets, one for general use and one for DAW use. Try this:

Open the extensions manager control panel and select Mac OS Base Set. make a copy of it and call it ProTools Set or whatever and add ONLY the extensions that you need for audio use. Then open your everyday set (usually called My Settings) and add all the stuff you need for everyday use, making sure the Remote Access stuff is in there. If my memory doesn't fail me, this is all explained in the installation instructions that come with PT, so if you have any doubts, read the manual...

Good luck,

Al K.

Very strange. I had the same thing happen. Apparently, the install of 5.2 does something that causes remote access to look not installed even when it is. I got one other error message too what was that remote access couldn't open becase "Controller" could not be found. Anyway, the only fix was turning all extensions on which was certainly not necessary before the 5.2LE install. Not a big deal, but I think there is something real and weird happening here.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">-To eliminate any potential extension conflict, our installation instructions recommend creating a Mac OS Base extension set before installing the PT LE software. The Mac OS Base set does not include the Remote Access components. Therefore, you will have to manually enable them within Extensions Manager...we have not seen any conflicts with Pro Tools and Remote Access.
