Default Missing Click track Plug In

I get the error msg when I try to create a click track. So, since I am going to uninstall PT for the 2nd time today (dont ask lol) this time I am going to grab the 10.3.4 and run with that. My question is, would it be a hassle to uninstall the virtual instruments and reinstall as far as not disturbing any files/ locations? I have all my sessions stored on a separate HD so I imagine it wont, but I'm just dbl checkin, thx.

All your session files will be fine without any disturbance to the file paths. You might lose the file paths under File > Open Recent. You might also lose some of your changes in Setup > Preferences, which you'll have to setup again. I myself use a default disk image without PT that I restore, then do a full install just to be safe.

Thx for the reply Shan, I am working towards the imaging and partitions but currently unable to. As far as the file paths and changes are concerned is it something easily redirected or will it cause a big problem? If it will cause a big problem can I just add a .dll or something or would replacing the click be just as bad an issue?

If you have:
  • Click.dpm
  • Click.dpm.rsr
You can put them in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Digidesign\DAE\Plug-Ins.

If you re-installed PT though, they should already be in that folder.

Excellent found the files on another HD and replaced em and it works. Thank you. 1 thing different I did see in that folder rather than this new install's folder is twice as many plug ins from the AIR series and others, should I be concerned? Or are these replaced with the AAX system or something else?

AAX has it's own file path:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins

If there's RTAS duplicates, they'll be ignored and AAX will be used in the session.

Last thing I swear, I've just learned since I installed the 10.3.4 that I am missing all of the PT instruments and a bunch of others. When I create an instrument track and check instruments I only get Reason, Maschine and such, no Boom or TL Metro or any of those standard pieces.

It may have something to do with the "Paths too long" during installation in 10.3.4

I think there is a separate installation for the instruments. I cant say for sure, so someone else will probably chime in on that one.

Soul El, you might try running the Avid Instrument Installer to see if it solves the missing AIR/Avidinstruments issue.

You can find it on this Page
