Undo Consolidation question.
Hi all,
Reading ProTools Reference Guide I've found a very interesting feature. It's called CONSOLIDATE (page 524 of the PDF file). It's really useful. I have a question about its use. Is there a way to undo consolidation? Just suppose i want to come back to the trimmed (pre consolidated) track. How can i do this ? Should i create a new playlist to keep not consolidated version and consolidated version ?? Thanks in advance |

Re: Undo Consolidation question.
The induvidual sections of the unconsolidated track will still exist in the audio files folder, as consolidation creates a new audio file entirely.
You could always manually seperate portions of the track again if required. However what your's saying about playlists is what I do. My 'top' playlist is pretty much always a consolidation of bits and pieces of other playlists/recordings. The management of playlists is one of the cool things about protools in my opinion.
