Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Just upgraded to 8.0.4 on 10.6.3 HD system
Mojo SDI hardware. When locking to a video machine and capturing video into my session everything functions as normal until I stop playback. At that moment the video and audio files that I was just recording, viewing, and listening to disappear. I've noticed that while its recording i can see on my video drive that it creates the file but it appears to be HUGE...like hundreds of gigs... then when playback is stopped it disappears. It reminds me of the (command .) function while recording but thats not at all what im doing. any ideas or further questions to help out. thanks steve |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
I am running the same OS & PT versions.
Mojo SDI is solid, both wild records & locked to LTC. Recording to internal or FW or ISCSI or ?? drives? I record to internal SATA drives for both audio & video (separate drives). Have you limited your open-ended record time? Limit it to under 60 minutes & PTs will be happier. If your video drive doesn't have at east 20% space free, this can happen. |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Thanks for the comments... actually I always have my record allocation limited to under 60. In this case its 30. I have a separate internal SATA drive for audio as well as a separate Video drive...
upon further testing I am finding that when capturing only audio locked to serial time code it behaves as normal. When capturing Video wild it functions as normal. When capturing video chasing a deck is when this problem persists. I have years of experience with Mojo as well as blackmagic video cards and have never seen this problem before. luckily i cloned my drive before the upgrades just in case. I don't have the need to utilize this function any time in the immediate future so i have some time to trouble shooot with the help of this forum. |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
So, to be clear, it works normally when locked to serial TC & wild, but acts abnormally when chasing LTC? I have experienced errors like yours when rolling wild, with the mojo saying "error on closing" and I have to recapture, but it has never deleted a file (even it was unplayable).

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Problem continues:
Video and Audio can be captured Wild. Audio only can be captured locked to serial time code When capturing Video locked to serial time code the files appear to be recording as normal and I can see and hear through the mojo but when the deck is stopped or pro tools is stopped the files delete themselves from the sesssion as well as from the disk and I can see the .part files being created on both the audio drive and the video drive during capture but they simply disappear upon stoppage. Using 9 pin to transmit time code so i am not positioning with LTC at all. |
