If anyone finds a workaround/fix that doesn't involve trashing prefs please let us know. I often get .mxf video where PT does NOT follow the correct color space when set to "follow track" and I always have to set it to "Rec709 full res" manually to avoid hazy/milky picture when bouncing out QTs. I personally don't care as it has no influence on the Blackmagic output but every time I send something out to directors I first have to point out that PT messes up the color space and ask them to ignore the overly flat picture with no proper blacks. Never great to start an approval session with discussions about the picture.
Currently I can only chose between the black wink and proper color space or no black wink and wrong color space.

I somehow managed to 'revive' one session, although I have no idea how I did it yet.
I just played it back with loop and TC overlay enabled plenty of times and spotted the video to session start. Out of a sudden it stopped jumping to 0 hours and instead jumped to random TC before looping. Then PT out of a sudden stopped showing any kind of picture, just a black window. After I did a restart, the session was working without the bug and playing video just fine. So I thought maybe disabling and re-enabling the video engine would do the trick, but that’s not it. Maybe it’s enough to just delete the video engine cache / prefs, I haven’t tested that yet. |

Hi Tope,
I didn't get an email but the bug is quite trivial to reproduce and only take seconds to trigger if you follow the steps I posted. I have so far reproduced it on 4 different rigs all with different hardware (intel laptop, M2 laptop, M2 ultra Studio, M2 MacPro, 5,1 Intel Mac), with or without video cards, with and without SYNC HD with AVID hardware or 100% native. It happens on all of them. I think this will take 2 seconds for someone at AVID to reproduce.
