Pro Tools mixing up Instrument Track assignments?

I've come across a strange problem when using instrument tracks. Sometimes when opening a session I'd worked on, Pro Tools will mistakenly assign an instrument module to the wrong track.

For instance, if I have midi drums, midi bass, and midi piano, when I open a session and reactivate the plugins, I'll hear the bass playing the drum notes. The plugins are still on the correct track inserts, but the Instrument View in the mix window shows that the midi is being played by a different module. I can always fix it because, in the instance of the plugin itself, there's a little name like "Kore Player Node 4-1" or something like that... so I just reassign it manually to the right node.

To give you a little more info on the situation, I can say that it's only ever happened to one track in a session (that I can think of) - it's not like a bunch of the instruments are mixed up. I can also say that I use almost exclusively with Native Instruments plugins. I don't want to necessarily implicate them as the cause of the issue, since I don't use other midi instruments. However, they are notorious for being unstable and buggy in Pro Tools.

Has anyone else had this issue? It's really irritating.

From what I read here, NI doesn't play well with Pro Tools. I have never had that issue, but I don't run any NI instruments.
