but a notch in the screen for the camera ?!
wtf is their design team thinking ?
it's possibly the most idiotic design flaw Apple have ever come up with, and they've certainly been a consistent provider.
any faves ?

I'd rather have an ugly clip-on camera than that. remember those ?
absolute deal killer for me.
and what happens to menus in that area ?
imagine watching a fullscreen movie with a notch in the top.

p.s. I like the title of this thread . . . "Macobook", except it should be changed to "Wackobook".

But a fullscreen movie won't have the notch. The resolution without the notch is 16:10 aspect ratio. They've added screen estate above the 'normal' screen.

Hardly worth fussing about but it seems like the end of the world to about 50% of people for some reason.

Edit, I just check. Yup. Amazingly high prices. $3,900 for the one I would want.

I thought these new Apple CPU chips were supposed to be less expensive than the Intel CPUs. These same like the exact same prices as their previous laptops.

About 18 months ago, I ordered a 2019MBP, i9, 16" with 64/2 and it was £3899 in the UK.
The full-bore new one (M1 Max 32GPU) with 64/2 is £4099 - so a 5% increase over 18 months. Yes, Apple is trousering the Intel margin. But the price is little different.

Most importantly, the Intel one was unusable for studio work, in my opinion. Wouldn't run my (admittedly absurd) big screen, and the fans were flat-out the whole time.
It remains to be seen if the new one stays cool.

Dominic
