Default URGENT HELP on PreAmp !!

I'm about to buy a new preamp as many of allready know, i have the possibility of bying the Avalon 737 or the 747. One is mono and the other is Stereo. The price is no real problem, what i want to know is which one would you choose.

Thanks.

I’m interested in the 737 myself. I’d like to have one really good channel, and the comp and eq will give me the control to get a better track going in. You know “garbage in - garbage out”.

Why is there even a question if the price doesn't matter? 2 is always better than 1.

Overheads
Room Mics
Stereo guitar
Piano
Bass mic and DI
Snare top and bottom
etc
etc
etc

BTW: Aren’t we sort of comparing apples and oranges. The 737 is a valve pre-amp with a comp and eq. The 747 is a stereo compressor / equalizer - am I missing something?

It seems i made a mistake, i thought they were the same only one mono and the other stereo. Anyway thanks to all the replys, but the point was, independently of the machine, if you would pick for any reason a preamp that has only one input, just because it sound better or because the stereo adds some noise who knows why... etc...

That's it, thanks anyway.
