Help me find a great Pro Tools mouse
I have done a ton of research and searching on these forums and I am having a difficult time finding a mouse for my system. I have one of the few Intel Macs that didn't come with Blue Tooth. I have installed the Blue Tooth card into my Mac Pro and I have nothing but hardware issues and it just doesn't work. So I am pretty much stuck to a wired mouse. I have no extra USB ports (except for the one that is connected to my keyboard for my mouse, but it doesn't seem to support powered devices.
I go through Mighty Mouses like crazy. I Need the option to be able to scroll up, down and left to right. I own a magic mouse which was decent when I kind of got my BlueTooth working, but it doesn't work at all anymore. Any suggestions?

Re: Help me find a great Pro Tools mouse
I've never found wireless mice to feel solid. I think you can still get the Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3 which is popular with gamers. It has been by far the most reliable and comfortable mouse I've ever tried.

Just hold down shift while using the scroll wheel to go left and right.

Hi,
Been using A Logitech cordless optical track man for years and couldn't live without it. You can program different functions on it. I've got it to do... Stop start Adjust grid resolution up and down Toggle waveform view between automation Cut region Plus scroll wheel and the usual left right click Chris

Re: Help me find a great Pro Tools mouse
Thanks guys. I'll look into those options. A lot of votes for the expert mouse. I've used it before and I wasn't blown away. Of course, scrolling left and right requires the shift key to be held, but definitely not the end of the world. I'll also check out the Logitech cordless optical track man and Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.

Kensington Expert Mouse here too. It's what SSL puts in the Duality so I am very used to the feel of it.

Re: Help me find a great Pro Tools mouse
I've been using Pro Tools 10 on both my Macbook Pro and my Icon system and I have recently been using a magic trackpad on my icon system as well under OSX Lion
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC...ode=MTY1NDA1Mg The added functionality for the trackpad in lion totally rocks !!! The swipes / 3 and 4 finger functionality works awesome in combination with pro tools. Session navigation is a great example. 2 finder scroll both vertically and horizontally. 3 finger drag is another one .... Prior to Lion I would have said Kensington expert mouse or trackball. Now I say Magic Trackpad !!!
