Default PLEASE HELP! 10.3.9 w/ C24, v6.4.1- 12db issue

We are having a consistent 12db discrepency- Running a signal generator at -18db on an audio track then bussing to a master clearly shows the 12db of difference. Is this a preference setting? Does anyone have suggestions for overcoming low mic input level on a Control 24/PT 6.4.1? Even while driving inline compressors we're still getting levels of about -18 to -14 max. Occurs with 4050 and shotgun mic using both internal and external preamps. Is there a preference setting that may be interfering with decent mic input? We have 2 888's, 1 1622, and 1 USD Sync box connected to a G4 w/OS 10.3.9. Does Mixplus System like this only go to 10.3.4? Could our OS 10.3.9 upgrade be causing this input issue?

This is a known, but unresolved problem... below is the response from tech support.

Quote:

The level issues in 6.4.1 were resolved in Pro Tools 6.4.1cs3 available here:

http://www.digidesign.com/download/cs/641cs3/mac/

Yo may still experience the following issue with more than one interface
attached.* This applies to systems that have interfaces attached to the
farm card.* After the session is open, go to the Hardware Setup, and
declare the extra* interfaces attached to your farm/s to "no interface",
then swap back to the peripheral you have connected (no need to close the
dialog). This will reset the "I/O + Mixer" plug-ins to be using the correct
+6 or +12 setting for the session. You should only have to do this on a
session having the problem once if you do not change the level of the
session again.* If you change the level of the session you will need to
remove and declare the interfaces again to change the level of the
I/O=Mixer plug-ins to the new level.

Best regards,

I just had this problem at 1am last nite. I went to retouch a mix and all my levels were 12db lower! It happened after I turned on my second 888. I never had this problem until going to6.4.1cs3. Thanks so much for the fix! It worked like a charm. I would have spent hours otherwise trying to figure this one out. thanks again.
