Default Extend automation to beginning of "untrimmed" region

I'm having a mind block on how to do this quickly...

I have a region and I'm deleting the fades at the beginning and end and then extending both so the trimmed region is back to the full file size. There's automation over the trimmed region (fixed for the duration of the region) and I need to extend that at the beginning and end while I'm untrimming the regions.

The ends are easy since I can use "write to all enabled" to extend the automation since it'll copy the automation from where I started the selection. The beginnings are my issue. I want the automation to be the same as the end of the selected region.

Any ideas?

Ok, so there's one way by taking it out of linked insert/playback but I'm hoping there's a more elegant way so that I don't have to take it out of link and it just uses the values at the end of the region. I kind of remember a key command to do this...
