If shortee doesn't have one then they are not around. He has EVERYTHING. He even is a parts house for control 24 users. Hey Shortee, got any knobs? Just kidding. P.S. I just got one of those tranzports and they are happening.

Scott....

U got a what? Link us to it.......

I sold my Control 24 last week, and my Mix System.

Soon-ish to have a HD setup and a different board.

I'm looking at Harrison S10B's and others. Some Otari stuff around, etc.

I automated a fader on an analoug board and it worked great.

That might be the plan..... get a really nice large format analoug board, buy a bung of P&G faders that are analoug/motorized and make myself a poormans SSL.

The Harrison is cool in that it already has Motorized faders, but they are digitally controlling the Analoug stage of the board, while not actually passing analoug signal, so there is no need to change out the fader, just a matter of switchable routing so I can select between onboard automation or PT automation.

The single fader test went flawless so I know how to do it effectively now, just have to find the new board for the studio.

gonna be pretty sweet.

I want 48 faders though.

Went and checked out a pair of Harrisons, made an offer, they're willing to go that amount, but can't let em go until Fall at the soonest. Sux.

Off to find something else.

Again, I really think Digi needs a room for 3rd part boards in use with PT.

Sorry to thread jack

Shorty,

The Tranzport is a remote USB powered transport that allows you to record enable and punch in, etc. from another room, all wireless. So now, I can record myself from the acoustic room without having to go back to the board. Look for Frontier Design. I don't know the web site. They are really cool. You'd dig it.

The lack of schematic support from Avid for obsolete and/or discontinued products is absolutely ridiculous, if you ask me. That's the kind of behavior we expect from companies like Behringer, not Avid.

We are fortunate at my facility to have proper engineering support. Consequently, we'll be drawing our own schematics, removing and identifying component types and values and generally solving the problem ourselves at considerable expense and duplication of effort.

The bottom line is that we'll get there - but it will be no thanks to Avid

...and I'll darned sure remember this the next time I'm selecting consoles at my facility.
