Default latency problems....help

is there any way to stop the latency delay?

I have a 2.6 processor I think tats fast enough to run this program. I dont understand hoe cubase can record right off the bat and Protools takes forever. For this to be such a superior program in every other aspect, the recording proces is my biggest concern. the manual says I have a options menu to enable low latency monitoring. I dont see it. I have the H/W buffer size is 128; cpu usage is 85%; the DEA is set at 2. I also Have my "open end record at 10 minutes. ahhh HELP!

Do you mean the delay from the time you press PLAY and PT starts playing? Thats not latency. How much RAM do you have. 1 Gig solved it for me. I have softsynths on sessions and they really slow down the start to Play time.

Just to be clear - is your complaint that it takes a long time before recording starts? How long?

Anyway, if that's your issue, latency isn't the correct term for it.
