Default 2019 MacPro GPU: Radeon Pro W5500X w/8gb VS. Radeon Pro W5700X W/16gb

I've asked this from Apple and Avid on a few occasions and couldn't get an answer and have researched countless forums as well to no avail. Was hoping someone here would have 1st hand experience?

About to buy a new 2019 Macpro 16 core and was only considering the stock Radeon W5500X, but one of the MAIN reasons I am upgrading is speed of rendering NR plugs, freezing tracks and making faster QuickTime ref for clients.
I heard that it's worth getting the +$400 W5700X 16G since it can help speed up making QuickTimes in Protools?

Is there much truth to this and if so, how tangible is the speed of offline QT bounce?

Would it add noticeable heat and noise since it's a much larger card taking up an extra Pcie slot?

Thanks

Just following up on your question.
Did you upgrade to 2019?
Did you get that card?
I noticed you didn't have any HDX cards or do you?
I have a 2019 w/Pro Vega II waiting to be moved up to the studio.
Haven't heard back from tech support of this setup will accommodate our HDX cards.

Yes I did get it last month, and went with the stock card, but now I wish I went with the 5700/16gb

After using the new mac, in all honesty, it is NOT what I thought it was compared to my 2012 mac pro 12 core, 96gb with OS on a SSD via pcie with the RX580. And definitely not for the price of admission and to top it off, my most HEAVILY used plugin IDC (Instant Dialogue Cleaner) is no longer supported on 64 and Audionamix has not eta if and when it will be updated

It is a good stopgap, but maybe better not spending anything more on the Intels. The new Apple Silicons are BEAST on graphic rendering, you cannot even compare the GPU performance of the best chips, provided you have native software installed.

Example: "Hey I have this 3hr video mix render that I missed a 10sec dialogue which was left muted... how to fix?"
Answer: "Easy. Just fix it and re-render"
Argument: "But it takes ages..."
Counter: "It takes more time to send the project on this Apple Silicon, unless you already have it on TB3 external."
Wondering: "I actually have it on TB3 external"
Conclusion: "Gimme. Open it, do your fix. Okay, done. Rendering. What the.. 90 seconds?"

^conversation overheard having strong tea with my friend and his friend he wanted to help.

I have the 5700 in my 2019 Mac Pro and a base model Studio, plus a maxxed out 14" MBP and a couple of self build PC's.
The Ryzen 9 has a 6900XT Master graphics card in it.

These Geekbench results might be of some use.

You can see the difference in Compute between the base graphics card and the 5700 upgrade I recently did.

Multicore the 2019 Mac Pro is still faster than anything I have, although single core is lagging.

I am sure a Maxed out Studio would beat it but it doesn't have PCI slots so it isn't of use to me as a main system. Bring on the new Mac Pro.
