Default AudioSuite window way out of view.....

Sorry to waste a topic on Windows stuff, but this is now a PT thing for me.

Under 'AudioSuite' my drop down is suddenly way off to the left, with just the right side barely visible. Sometimes, I can minimize the session window, and it appears normally, but it breaks my concentration. I've had other, non-PT windows that have been too big to reach the buttons at the bottom lately as well.

Is this a "Control Panel/Display Properties/Appearance" thing? Also, we recently installed a GE Force PCI card, so I don't know if it could be that, or if I could have set something wrong.

Thanks, Roy

Sounds like your Display Settings are set to 800x600. Try 1024x768 or higher. Also, it's been helpful to my eyes, when using high display settings, to set system fonts to large. (click the "Advanced" button on the settings page.)

JMS40,

Thanks for the suggestion. I've always used 800x600, though, and it's been great. I think the 1024 make is far smaller. There has to be a solution within 800x600.

Yes...it is smaller, but it will display more...more tracks in the mix-window and the edit window....

Roy,

I dont think they design pt for anything less then 1024 resolution. I have absolutely no idea how you can run pt at any resolution higher then 1024 (meaning bigger pixels like at 800). there are just too many things you need to have on the screen at one time. I run at 1200 and this seems to be about right to get what i need on screen to be visable all at the same time.

Sure 1024 runs small for the first couple of days, but then try to go back to 800 and you wont be able to last. Desktop realistate is expensive, why not maximize your area .

Just try it a couple of days then see how you feel.

Christian

Ps a bigger moniter helps too.

OK, I'll definitely will try it. You're probably right. Man, I've danced all over this little 15" monitor, and am about to get at least a 19".... can't wait. It's been like having to tie my shoes every 20 ft. or something.

Thanks very much, Roy

Hi Roy-
Yes, it does appear small with the standard settings. Aside from setting the system fonts to "Large", you can set all fonts larger under the "Settings" tab. You can easily mimic the look of 800x600. Course, I still couldn't get by without reading glasses...

Hi Roy,

Simple solution, it's your font choice for the scheme you've set up (Windows appearance, go to Properties, Scheme).

Just change to a default font. Windows has a bit of a problem with these things. (Screen fonts etc)

Haigbabe,
Thanks for your suggestion. Changing the fonts didn't work, but while I was there, I made the 'Active Window Border' smaller, and it works!

So, thanks for putting me in the right spot.

p.s.This IS in the 800x600 mode. I'm still getting the hang of trying the 1028x? mode, too.
