Default T-racks -PLUG-IN OR STAND ALONE (which is better?)

I have decided to purchase T-racks. I downloaded the stand alone version and like what I heard. I also downloaded the plug-in DEMO but could not get it to open. I have heard about so called bugs on the Plug-In version.

Basically, I am trying to figure out if I should get the plug-in or the stand alone 24 version.

I have digi 001 ptle 5.0.1 on windows 98. Will the plug jive with my OS?
Which is more stable the Plug-in or the Stand Alone?
What are these bug's I heard about on T-racks anyway?
Is it more effective and efficient to have it as a plug or the Stand Alone?

All feedback is appreciated, I plan to make this purchase this weekend!

THANKS
