APG VS PCI CARD AND DIGI001

This may be a dumb question.

Is it better to use an agp card instead of a pci card with the digi 001?

I have a pci ati ragepro(4 or 8 megs) and every now and then the pci meter pegs. I also have a network card but disable it when i use protools. I want to make sure i optimize my 001 setup as much as i can.

now the dumb question- since an agp card is not a pci, does it not put a load on the pci meter or does it still put a load in the system comparable to a pci card?

does digidesign have an official stance on agp vs pci? are there people out there who use pci and have NEVER had a problem? Give me some input!!!!

for sure the agp card is going to save you some pci load. the less you have on the pci buss, the less is your load. I don't know about macs, but if you're running a PC, you can set your irq for the 001 PCI so it won't share with any other. It should make things easier on 001.
