Default New Mc Mix+Control+Transport owner - Macbook Retina Connection

I just bought euphonix stuff on ebay and they will be here in couple of days.

i have a macbook retina which doesnt have a ethernet connection.

Can i use a wireless router to connect the euphonix control+mix and transport to my macbook pro retina?

i know i can get a thunderbolt ethernet adapter but unfortunately both my thunderbolt ports are in use.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You can absolutely use a wireless router for the Artist Series units. We have a wifi router with 4 ports on it and all 4 units connected via Ethernet cable to router and then WiFi to Macbook Retina and works like GOLD

Our 4 units in the midi composing room have worked flawless on our 2 Macbook Retinas (8GB and 16GB).
If you have a WiFi connection at home you can run the Avid artist/s via ethernet to the Internet router and wifi to the retina.

There have been issues with the Eucon software and the Artist Series but we have not had any issue what so ever with the Macbooks so hopefully you won't have any problems either. If you have any questions later on when you have setup everything we are here to help eachother get going again.

Best of Luck
Christopher

Use a USB to Ethernet adapter or a Thunderbolt to Ethernet adapter.

would there be any cons cos of data transfer speed compared to router?
would it make a difference if its a usb2.0 or 3.0 adapter?

If the Mac has USB 3 that is good otherwise I suggest Thunderbolt adapter. USB 2 should work also.
