when I open a PT9 HD session in PT10HD - why is it calculating overviews?
the title says it all
when I open a PT9 HD session in PT10HD - why is it calculating overviews? I knew it would if it was a PT7 session..... but 9?  thanks

It does it for non HD also. And recently I noticed it did it when I did a save copy in of a PT10 session into another PT10 session (don't ask why haha) it calculated overviews then too.
No clue why.

Going from 9 to 10 will force PT to re-create the waveforms because it's a new pro tools session format (.ptx) that does not read the older waveform cache.
It also has something to do with how fades are read - can't remember the specifics right now. Going from 10 to 10 (save copy in) you'll re-create the waveforms the first time you open the session but not again after that.
