Unbalanced/Balanced??????

Quick question are inputs 1-4 balanced and unbalanced..Is it the same for 5-8 to?My keyboards are both unbalanced going into inputs 1-4 which the 003 rack specs say there balanced.Is there gonna be a problem with this setup?Some were i read that the inputs 1-4,5-8 can except unbalanced and balanced is this true Thanks

Yes the inputs can accept both balanced and unbalanced connections - so if your keyboard only has unbalanced outputs then that's fine. But you should ideally be using the line inputs 5-8 to avoid going through the preamp.

I use to use 5-8 but just trying something different..If i do use 5-8 should i keep the switch in the back -10 for unbalanced

The switch is for level and doesn't really care if the incoming signal is balanced or not. Start at +4 and adjust the keyboard volume. If you can't get the meters up to the yellow, switch to the -10 setting.

OK thanks for that...Which inputs do you prefer 1-4,or 5-8
