11 new sound effects libraries: Wild tire skids, lots of animal sounds (some by humans as well), nature ambiences, horror sounds and more


In this new independent sound effects library highlight on A Sound Effect, we have interesting ambiences, tons of animals, and, of course, more horror sounds for the season.

If you want peace in quiet in your soundscapes, we have a new wind collection and a tranquil Ambisonic crickets and insects library. For more human sounds in your atmospheres, we have urban and suburban recordings and ambiences of Newcastle and Durham, too.

For animal sounds, you can hear petting zoos, a collection of zoo and farm animals, and a library with actors (as well as a metal singer) mimicking everything from a dolphin to a platypus.

If you're working on a horror film, game or trailer, check out the new cinematic trailer horror sounds - and perhaps you might need some painful bone cracking sounds, isolated tire skids, and sounds of ice breakings as well - that seems like a scary storyline to me! Happy listening!

We recorded in three locations. In 2 universities and a school.
No humans around, we had the perfect conditions for spooky ventilation room tones.

The sounds are ideal for your space ship hallways, lonely offices or schools, for normal bigger sized roomtones, or just use it for dark drones.

We've added a number of great new sound effects libraries from the independent sound community to A Sound Effect:

You can hear sounds from a tattoo parlor, barbershop, as well as landmark ambiences from around London and peaceful waterfalls.

You can also experience the musical sounds of a creepy bowed violin, deep house loops and construction kits, and a textural bowed bass.

Two new HISSandaROAR Libraries now released:

SD059 POLYSTYRENE
This library explores EPS - Expanded Polystrene - a rigid synthetic material that is over 90% air (also known by the brand name Styrofoam)
Once you get past the annoying squeaks, polystyrene is capable of generating and amplifying a vast range of sounds.

The combination of rigidity and lightweight makes EPS a useful resonator but is also capable of generating quite strange sounds itself
including creaks, squeaks & shrieks, breaks, tears, clicky ratchets, weird vocalisations (dolphins on acid?) and pitchy tumbling impacts.

Check out the MAKING OF VID*for a quick preview. These sounds were recorded 32bit 192kHz using a pair of Sanken CUX100K microphones
for extended 100kHz range and an MKH8020 was placed inside objects when possible, useful for its pronounced bass response.
