Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Allen,
I've just purchased: ASUS k8N-DL with 2 Opteron 248's Below 500$. Will the performance be close to 2 Opteron 270?

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Allen,
Another question. This will be my first build. My AUDIO HD in my present Set-up, do I just swap it to the new system?

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Shouldn't be a problem as long as you have the proper cable and settings figured out.

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Could someone tell me how well PT would run on this processor and mobo?
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819103759 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813131013 And I plan on loading it up with RAM of course. Im looking for a better motherboard in the same price range as the one above so any help would be appreciated. |

Re: Best Desktops for PTLE
Hey guys, I'm not very computer literate, but I think I know enough to post on this sticky thread. My question is in regards to a great working desktop, one that is know for brilliant speed and compatibility with 002R w/PT7.1 and potentially 003R w/PT7.3. I also need this machine to work flawlessly with Avid's Xpress Pro HD.
I would like something that doesn't cause me anxiety when I run powerful plug-ins. A Quad maybe? I'm not even really sure what that means, but I just want something powerful and compatible. Any link to an online store where I can build it, and where everything is PT compatible. Or maybe there's someone here who builds them themselves. My budget is around $2K, but if it takes more to have a decent system that has longevity, then I'm willing to bump up my budget. Hope I've posted this in the right spot... Any direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, S. Foster |
