Default Digi 002 Rack need help - digital output to CD recorder

I am running Pro Tools 7.4. on a Digi 002 rack
Trying to record to a Fostex CR500 CD Master recorder via digital output from Pro Tools.
The configuration I am using is as follows:

SPDIF digital out via the RCA jack using a 3m SPDIF cable.
SPDIF cable into a HOSA CDL-313 Coaxial(RCA) to AES/EBU converter.
AES/EBU XLR style cable from the CDL-313 to a Fostex CR500 CD Master recorder (AES digital in)
No return loop is connected.

Settings on the CR500 are correctly set up for digital input.
I set the output of the desired track in Pro Tools to S/PDIF 7-8.

When I attempt to record, the Fostex CR500 acts as though it is recording, but there is no audio present when completed.

I have tried inserting a master fader, but to no avail.
I'm really struggling with this, I would really appreciate any assistance.

Your spdif output needs to be set to spdif and NOT adat.
Are your sessions 44.1khz/16 bit? I'm guessing the Marantz doesn't have any kind of on-board converter.
BTW, you should ALWAYS have a master fader in there anyway, not just as a last resort.....

Forgive the ignorance, but where to I set the output to SPDIF instead of ADAT?

OK, so I configured the optical port for SPDIF (there is no option for the RCA port) which deactivated outputs 11-16 in the I/O screen. Moved the SPDIF output to channels 9-10 in the I/O screen, which are still active. Still no audio from the digi rack to the CD recorder. Any suggestions? Anyone?

Again, when you first created your session, is it 44.1khz/16 bit?

Hold the phone.....your master fader output should be set to the Master 1/2-spdif option. Try that.
But you STILL need to be 44.1khz/16 bit.
