The "all-button mode" feature on our 1176 plug-in is really awesome. This is where it becomes clear just how good the modelling is. You can really get that program dependent pumping and nice compression distortion that made the hardware 1176, and particularly the all-button mode, unique.

There's a feature in UA's April Webzine that examines all-button mode. Look under "Compression Obsession". If you are an all-button freak like me you may enjoy it...

Seems very bizarre that the UA guy is allowed to promote his products on here but the BF guy isn't.

It's ugly when the corporate identity of a company becomes associated with personal vendettas against their "3rd party developers".

Please spare me all the "we hate Erik" responses and cut to the chase - this is stupid and unfair.

best,
Rich

i totally agree, it has never really been cool for
plug develpers to pop in to promote thier products. so why is it ok now?

and, so what if this plug really sounds better then that one compared to the hardware version. i really don't think half of the people
here could tell the difference anyways, or if they did, even know when or how to get the most out of it. all this **** does is color it anyways.

meaning, a perfect model of an 1176 will not make a crappy source great.

also meaning, a great source will sound great thru a digi rack plug.

Yeah, you guys obviously weren't around back when Erik got banned. He was banned for vendetta-like criticism of Digidesign in Digidesign's own forum. He was allowed to participate for quite some time, and was given several warnings, before that happened.

To me BF plugs are reasonable. I prefer my Compressor banks.

I second that, I own BF stuff and the real counterparts, and still use McDSP's CB2/3 over anything else.

Thanks friend. I am happy using CB1 mostly. Not a big fan of the pre filter.
Also, as e-cue mentioned Digi compressor is one of the most underrated comp plugs.]
