Pro Tools wont open

I have recently found out that my pro tools will not open. I was using pro tools a week ago. Recently I have installed Avid Media Composer and itunes 8.0. So today when I tried to open pro tools it will not open. Would installing those programs have any thing to do with why my pro tools will not open and is there anyway to fix it? I am running ver. 7.3.1 on version 10.5.4 OS X. If anyone can help me I would appreciate it a lot. Thanks.

You probably used automatic update to grab the itunes 8. This is a well known problem. (if you used the 'search' function, you would have found this out-which may be why no one has responded yet). Trash your preference files, repair disc permissions and it will probably work again. In the future manually download and install any updates....and first search the duc before posting
the easiest way to trash all your pref files is to download the tech support folder available on the digi site. Also you should run the prebinding script which is also on the digi site.

You are trying to run a version of Pro Tools that is not compatible with your version of Mac OS X. Click on "Compatibility & Upgrades" at the top of the page.
