Re: Which ver OSX
So it takes time. What would you rather do - spend the time to do a system right or spend the time doing it your way and STILL troubleshooting problems that wouldn't exist otherwise? Shouldn't take more than a day, if that, especially if you have all your installers and serial numbers at hand.

Re: Which ver OSX
Well, I don't really need to upgrade right now. I'm taking classes online that require special software, and I have a few small mixing projects in the works, so I'd really prefer to hold off until I get a break in what I'm doing. No sense in fixing a nonexistent problem just because I want the latest and greatest.

Re: Which ver OSX
I find that it's worth it. I keep installers of all my apps and plugins in a folder for when I need to do this. I just made a clean install of ML on a new hard drive to test it, and a clean install is so much faster (and stable). It's definitely worth it to not have two plus years of installed apps you never use and remnants of other uninstalled apps bogging things down.

Re: Which ver OSX
Is mountain lion more stable with the latest PT 10 installer or is Lion suffice? Still waiting for a definitive answer if there is one. Thanks!

Re: Which ver OSX
There was a major difference in OSX 10.8.4 and later, so yes, it is definitely much better than any Lion version out there.

Re: Which ver OSX
Apple decided to charge for Mountain Lion OS upgrades. It is only Mavericks OS and Yosemite OS that you can download for free. I do not know why Apple changed their business model after Mountain Lion OS.
Apple fixed some issues related to -9xxx errors with v10.8.4 and v10.8.5. I do no think those errors existed with Lion OS (v10.7.5).

Re: Which ver OSX
just an update, I had a reply to a similar thread I made on gearslutz before I created it here. Anyway, the reply stated he is running Mavericks just fine with PT 10. Is that the case for MAC users here?
All I want to do confirm at this point is Mountain Lion or Mavericks for PT10.
