iTunes will not launch when 002 is on

I'm using PT 6.4 and i recently updated my quicktime from 6.5.2 to QT 7. after doing so, iTunes 4 would not launch as long as the 002 was on. I read that some people were having problems with QT 7 and i went to Apple support and they had a QT 6.5.2 reinstaller witch means they must have really screwed up QT 7. Anyway, i reinstalled QT 6.5.2 and this did not help. I installed iTunes 5 update and that also did not help. Anyone have the same problem.

I ran into the same problem. Installed QT 7.0.2/iTunes 5, and boom, nothing worked.

I don't know what version of Digi CoreAudio you're running, I was running 6.4. I'm on a 001, was running PT 6.4 and Digi CoreAudio 6.4, in Panther. After reading that Digi CoreAudio 6.9 would work alright with the 001 (and PT 6.4), though not supported, I downloaded and installed it, deleted all the preferences I could find for QuickTime, restarted and prayed.

Things are working okay now. The QT player will stop audio playback sometimes, but everything else (iTunes, Reason, PT) is running as it should. Since you're on a 002, I assume you're already running 6.9, but try and delete the preferences. I've also noticed that most apps, that can interact with Digi CoreAudio, will run better if you launch them in shift mode, bypassing CoreAudio in favor of System Output on the computer.

These are my experiences, some of which I'm sure could be isolated to 6.9 + 001.

Thanks a lot. I got CoreAudio 6.9 installed and it seems to work so far. I feel kinda dumb for not trying that sooner but the DigiDesign support site didn't announce that there was an update to CoreAudio 6.4 for Panther on the main download page. Anyway thanks.
