Default Demo and subscriptions - can they open older versions?

Hey there.
I am looking to collaborate with an MD on some upcoming albums. He would really like to do some balancing (17pc big band) so I suggested he grab the demo and/or an EDU subscription.

However, his machine can only support up to Sierra.

Does the "Release Limit - up to and including versions until xxx" apply on the demo ilok asset, and the subscription one? I am perpetual so I'm not certain myself.

Thanks

I'm pretty shure it's like this still:
Subcription is latest version only.
Pro Tools Demo, you get 30 days fully functional Ultimate any version 2020/2021 AND access to download and demo 10/11/12.
So if 30 days is enough, he can use perhaps PT12 on Sierra. You'll have to check compatibility chart.

Interesting. Yeah I have the last installer for his version from my download centre I think is 2020.x so it's all about the license really. It's not old enough to be in 12 territory, it's definitely a year version at least. Thanks for the info. BIt of a shame that the subscription doesn't go backwards like the perpetual, could have been some money in the bank for avid.

just in case anyone is wondering, the latest version 2021.3.1 seems to just work fine for him in Sierra! Obviously not supported, but all he needs to do is volume automation on a frozen session I sent and it seems to be working fine.
