Default Midi notes keep playing

I'm not sure exactly where to post this problem, so I'll start here.

I have Pro Tools 7.4 LE on a Windows XP Laptop. I also have a M-Audio Axiom 61 Keyboard Controller, connected up via USB to the laptop, and I have an older Korg-SG-1 Keyboard with the midi-out going into the midi-in of the Axiom 61.

I'm running the XPand virtual software, and several times now.. when playing a key, that note just stays on forever, and there's no way to stop it, like its an infinite loop or something. The only way to stop the note from playing is to shut the keyboard off altogether, but then I lose all midi capability, and then I need to reboot the laptop to get everything back again.

I've seen this happen with the XPand virtual software, and with the B4 organ plugin. Its happened right in the middle of a session, which isn't good.

Any ideas how to prevent this from happening??

Shouldn't that be MIDI Thru if available? If not, un-plug the SG-1 and try again.

Go to event and all midi notes off or hit control+shift+.

Thanks for the replies, very much appreciated.

Unfortunately, the M-Audio Axiom 61 doesn't have a Midi-Thru option, it only has Midi In or Midi Out.. I should have picked up on that before.

Maybe I'll have to purchase one of those multi-port Midi Interface boxes.. unless someone has a better idea???

Im not sur of what your trying to do but you should not need midi through it compicates things.

Why are you using two keyboards and what audio card are you using?

I play two MIDI Controllers (keyboards) simultaneous all the time, though I do have a multi-port MIDI Interface, no daisy-chain.
