Default what\'s the story with the SMART console at AES?

Does anyone know if Digi is in contact with the folks who make that amazing console that was at AES? It's called "Smart" I think. If you saw this thing then you know what I mean -- like a starship helm! I didn't get to play around with it, but from the demo I saw it looks like it manages to stuff the functions of a much bigger board into a smaller space.... it is so friggin cool!

why would digi be "in contact" with them? If you are hoping that it would be PT compatible in any other way than HUI you in for a let down. Ever heard of ICON?

Might be a while before they 'mind meld' with the competition.

I hate to burst your bubble, but in some publication last year someone at Digidesign was interviewed and gave a glimpse into everything. Four (4) people at the time were working on the Ethernet protocol, and they were not going to open it up to developers outside of Digidesign because of the effort involved, if I remember correctly.

If you want an ethernet controller, you have to buy a Control|24, ProControl, or ICON.

Im curious Chief, how does the Euphonix System-5 MC controller work?

It uses something called EuCon [thats what they branded it], what type of transmission is it?
