PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
I upgraded to 7.2 yesterday and worked all day with no major problems except for some strange assertion error messages each time PT was closed. However, today when I try to open these sessions I get a message that the following plug-ins could not be loaded:
Smack XPand Focusrite D3 I noticed a similar error posted on the TDM Mac forum however manually re-instantiating these plug-ins or even trying to open new instances brings up DAE Error 7054 for me. In addition, after the session was opened, I get error messages saying autosave could not be completed each time PT attempts to autosave. Fortunately, when opened on my alternate system drive (with PT 7.1 cs9 still installed), the sessions load just fine and I've been able to continue working. I've already tried the usual troubleshooting including trashing Digi Databases/Prefs and even ran a Digi Test.

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
I uninstalled and reinstalled PT 7.2 (everything) as well as the plug-ins that gave me the issue and the problem seems to have gone away.
I'll be sure to post again if the problem resurfaces... Thanks

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
Ok...
ProTools seems to run ok the first time its run after a reinstall. However, when I closed PT for the first time after reinstalling and running it, I got a "ProTools.exe application error". I went ahead and clicked the ok box and re-opened PT. After a minute, the autosave error message (prompting me to disable autosave) popped up. I clicked "OK" to ignore the message and tried loading the problematic plug-ins into the session (which contained only audio tracks, an aux and master fader, two digi delays and one instance of DVerb). Focusrite D3 opened just fine but Smack brought up DAE Error 7054 one time and then opened correctly the second time, however a few seconds later ProTools "poofed"! I restarted once again and this time did not get the autosave errors at all and so far the "problem" plug-ins and ProTools seem to be behaving. Weird... I have the feeling that I'll see these problems again soon. btw, I have screenshots of the errors that came up if anyone at Digidesign is interested... Ben

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
Have you absolutely, positively verified that all installed plug-ins are Pro Tools 7 compatible? Even just having one incompatible plug-in in your plug-ins folder can cause problems in Pro Tools.

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
To the best of my knowledge, yes. I have been running 7.x since it came out with none of these issues. I will post versions of them all if it will help...
When I did the last re-install of PT, I also uninstalled the Focusrite bundle and Smack, downloaded the installers off the Digi site and re-installed them. XPand is PT 7.x only so I didn't bother with that one. Ben

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
Things are acting up again today in 7.2. I opened a session I had just been working on and Smack! was deactivated in the session. DAE Error 7504 comes up when I try to activate it. A minute after opening it the autosave error came up as well (autosave is set to 20 backups at 1 min. intervals).
I was unable to open the session in 7.2 even after rebooting a couple times but after switching back to my 7.1 system drive, it opens just fine...

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
I am not seeing the issue with Smack!
But, the other error...everytime I use a rewire device, upon closing PT, there it goes!

Re: PT 7.2 plug-ins deactivated and DAE Error 7054
Hi Nikki-k,
Are you seeing any rewire.dll error messages? I've seen these a couple times right before PT would 'poof'. At this point I'm trying to use PT 7.2 as much as possible but when these issues surface I have to revert back to 7.1 cs9, which I have to say is one of THE most stable versions I can remember in a long time... Ben
