Default Time shift not working

I've tried to do as much searching as I can but can't find anything on the time shifting plug in. My plug in won't show the length of the sample selected. When I click around to other regions the numbers in the start end and length show "1". This obviously isn't true. I've tried downloading the lastest updates for both the time expansion and PT for Intel macs. Anyone have any idea what this is?
