I've been recording my pro tools session to an external hard drive. I have suddenly lost access to the sessions because I get a message saying that the drives are unrecordable. If I reformat the drives I'll lose everything on them. So how do I gain access to the sessions without refromatting? Right now I can't open Pro Tools on the start up drive either, getting the same message. Is this the result of a serious glitch in the Pro Tools software?

Read the "General Troubleshooting" thread (about deleting database and volume files), and also the 2nd thread from the top of the forum called "Session must be on a Record Volume"
